Sketching in Almeria

I’m in my element, al fresco sketching with coffee and tomato tostada brekky at 14 century castle Velez Rubio in Almeira, Spain.
My sketches will make the best souvenirs, (however quick or impovised with coffee because I left my watercolours back at the cave house!) because I have connected with my subject and the marks I make, however wiggly, are instant and fresh.
This holiday has refreshed my creative mind and really inspired me; enthusiasm will spur me on to make time to paint on return to uk: castles, caves, mountains, vibrant colours: pink and white stone against cerulean skies and azure water- it has reminded me how important adventure, culture and curiosity are to sustain and invigorate the artist within every one of us.
