Reflections – Intermediates September 2015
In my Intermediate class (recently graduated from ‘Beginners’ this September!) we have begun to look at Reflections.
Acrylic gives us so much scope and variety of approaches, and in class we have tried technical work as well as plenty of time for free experimentation. Wet into wet, glazes, playing around with dark over light and light over dark, thick and thin, knife or brush.
Here are images of what we have done so far -including the experiments!.. more to follow…’
Plein air painting workshop Mudeford Quay – August 2015
I am absolutely in my element when I am painting outdoors, and sharing my passion with enthusiastic students is my dream job.
We had a fulfilling day at Mudeford Quay this week; camaraderie, banter, supporting each other, inspiring views, sunshine and not too much wind so the painting was plain sailing.
My regular students are getting familiar with outdoor painting now and the newbies have caught the bug.
We have discussed some adventurous ideas for future outings, so keep watching to see where our painting will lead us next! Or sign up to my newsletter to hear about my next art workshops.
On this note, I have just been employed by Authentic Adventures holidays as a painting tutor for holidays 2016 and I will tutoring at the Amalfi Coast and Jersey – can’t wait !

We celebrated the Opening launch of their Salisbury Art Trail exhibition, on Saturday 3rd October, with a well attended party for my wonderful students and their guests.
We are Venue One in the Salisbury Art Trail and are at Salisbury Library, Gallery 4, (upstairs in the library).
The students exhibiting have been painting with mefor at least 9 months – most starting as absolute beginners- ranging to loyal students who have been attending my lessons for 4 years or more; now well established with an independent sense of style.
Original Art work, cards and prints are for sale, with a diverse range of subject matter and styles; all of which have been projects studied in class.
This free exhibition is open Mon- Sat 9-5, and finishes on Friday 30th October.

Towards the Abstract
Workshop for Fordingbridge Art Club Feb 21st 2015 An exciting topic and we created exciting work. I was so thrilled that 3 attendees had never picked up a paint brush before and 2 of those I know for sure have dashed out to buy acrylic painting gear and have caught the painting bug! Would you guess that we started work from a scenic photo?
